A long awaited update :)

Hi Everyone!
We just wanted to give everyone a short updated little blog since its been awhile. This past Thursday, I turned 21 weeks! I can’t believe I’m already this far along, it seems like yesterday we found out that I was pregnant. Chris and I went to have my Anatomy Ultrasound on March 25th and the Doctor said the baby looked great! He had no signs of Down syndrome or any other health condition we should be worried about. I also got the results back to my bloodwork, which tested the baby for any possibilities of Down syndrome, or any other health conditions, which also came back negative. YAY! Thanks to everyone for all their thoughts & prayers! At my next appointment with Dr. Kotian, which is April 28th, I’m scheduled to take my glucose test which tests me for gestational diabetes and the not so fun Rhogam shot! I also have to have another ultrasound between 26-28 weeks so Dr. Kotian can see if the hematoma I have has moved at least two inches. This is so she can tell if I’ll be able to have normal birth or possibly have to get a cesarean. At first I definitely wanted the cesarean, but she described the procedure to me in detail and now I definitely do not want it! Also, our sweet little boy has started moving a lot more! It’s such a funny feeling and he especially catches me off guard when I least expect it. As a matter of fact, he’s moving at this very second. I suppose that’s his way of wanting to tell everyone hi :) We did get sonogram pictures on the 25th, however, the ultrasound technician was not able to take really good ones because he was in a hard position throughout the whole ultrasound. Not to worry though… we’ll definitely share one of the 3-D sonogram pictures we got. In other news… this past Friday Chris surprised me with something beautiful! I have to share it on here of course because it’s gorgeous and I want to share our happiness with everyone :)
I’ll be back to update some more another day. Until our next post…

Love,
Chris, Lisa, & baby♥

Bed rest for three days turned into icing on the cake for us :)

Due to a complication this past Wednesday, Chris and I had to rush to the Doctor's office. First off, let me just say that this appointment wasn't very fun at all. I had to not only have my blood taken, which I've actually grown used to now, but I also had to get a shot in my hip called Rhogam. This shot and needle were both absolutely ridiculous! It burned and had to be given while I was standing up so I could feel all the medicine go in. Oh, and the best part is that I have to get it once more at 28 weeks and again after the baby is born if he/she has a positive blood type. The reason behind this shot is because I am a negative B blood type and it's given to make sure my blood doesn't transfer to the baby's. Afterward Dr. Kotian did her usually examination and also an ultrasound so she could make sure the baby was fine. Thankfully, it was just a minor complication with me and the baby looked and sounded great. She then ordered me to be on bed rest for three days! Trust me, it's not as fun as it sounds. By the end of day one I was ready to get up and not be stuck in one room. I was also ordered to have an ultrasound done at the Hospital so they could get a better look at not only myself, but the baby. Which is how bed rest turned into icing on the cake :)
Yesterday, Chris and I went to the hospital for the ultrasound I was instructed to have. Today, I'm only 16 weeks and 2 days which technically means I'm not suppose to find out the sex of the baby till I'm 20 weeks. However, the ultrasound technician was able to tell the sex of the baby! We were both so excited and relieved because everything was fine with the baby and on top it, we got to know if we're having a boy or girl. I'm sure we've informed almost everyone I've ever met in my entire life, but just in case we forgot to tell anyone....
IT'S A BOY!!

Chris and I are absolutely thrilled! We're even going to start some baby shopping this weekend. My next appointment is this coming Wednesday, March 4. It's just a follow-up to the complication that occurred this past week and I'm also doing my blood test (yes, needles AGAIN!) to test for possibilities of Down Syndrome or anything else at this appointment. Chris, myself, and out sweet little baby boy would definitely appreciate everyone's prayers and thoughts! Until our next post... enjoy our sonogram pictures of little angel, he's quite the cutie already :)

Love,
Chris, Lisa, & baby♥

Update

15 weeks, 5 days and counting…
On February 20th I had my second Doctor visit for the baby. The appointment went good and Dr. Kotian said the baby sounds great! We unfortunately did not get to see the baby, but hearing the little heartbeat was amazing as always. Chris and I both get more excited with each passing day. This past weekend we went to Barnes and Noble and not only bought a baby name book, (yes, I previously stated that we have names chosen BUT we just want to be sure!). We also bought Charlotte’s Web and The Tale of Despereaux so we could both read to the baby at night since the baby can hear us. My next Doctor appointment is on March 4 so I can have some blood taken to see if the baby could have a possibility of Down Syndrome or if anything else could possibly be wrong. Chris and I would both greatly appreciate all the prayers and thoughts for us on that day. On an even more exciting note, we have scheduled the Anatomy Ultrasound for March 25th @ 9am Arizona time! This ultrasound is 90 minutes. They will measure all four chambers of the heart, the baby from the crown to his/her rump, and also determine the sex of the baby! We both cannot wait! I think we’ve started our countdown ever since I got off the phone scheduling the appointment. This Thursday, I will be exactly 16 weeks and lets just say I’ve finally started showing a little bit. I’ve included a picture from last Friday, its not that good considering I took it myself while Chris was at work but you can see my belly and that’s all that matters! I hope everyone is doing wonderful and remember that I love each and every one of you. There is not a day that I’m not thankful for all of you or a day that I don’t go without thinking of each of you. As soon as I get results back from the tests ran this coming Wednesday, we’ll be sure to write an update for everyone. Also, my first sonogram I got in January was in fact "zoomed" in because Dr. Kotian said she had to measure to see how far along I was.
Until next time…

Chris, Lisa, and baby♥

♥ Our unexpected blessing ♥

On January 23, 2009, Chris and I have been informed that we’re awaiting the arrival of our first born. The baby is expected to be due on/around August 13. As of today, I am 11 weeks and 4 days, I'm almost done with my first trimester. My doctor, Dr. Kotian, has informed me that if around 36 weeks I want to be induced, she will be more than willing to do so if both the baby and I are ready. Chris and I know the news has come as shock to everyone, and we both apologize for any hurt that we’ve caused, but at the same time, we’re happy, excited, and anxious to meet our baby. This baby is a blessing. Its not only our first blessing that we will both share together, its a blessing for both families and we cannot wait to share this experience with all our loved ones. This blogspot is not only intended to keep everyone informed, but also so we’re able to the share pictures we continue to get throughout my pregnancy. I’ve added our first sonogram we received this past Friday, you’re able to see the baby’s head, arms, and legs( which are crossed in the picture.) If only we were able to have shared the heartbeat we heard with everyone, it was absolutely amazing and surreal. In about 8 weeks, we will get to find out the sex of the baby. If it's a boy, we've chosen the name Aiden Christopher and if it's a girl, we've chosen the name Peyton Noelle. My next appointment is Friday, February 20th and unfortuantely will not be able to see the baby at this appointment but we'll be sure to let everyone know it goes.
